Reset Nokia Security Code With NSS pro


Nokia N97 Security Code
Previously, I've written how to recover a forgotten Nokia security code and reset Nokia security code using Nemesis Service Suite (NSS). Although NSS still works flawless for supported Nokia devices, this software has been discontinued. NSS unable to use Ovi Suite latest drivers. In addition, NSS it will show 'Scan for product....error' because of the unsupported drivers. There will be no more new updates for NSS. So it never will work for newer Nokia phones. However, there is a newer software called NssPro which supports newer Nokia devices. Most importantly, it works just like the NSS reset the Nokia security code.

You'll need:
  • Nokia PC Suite/Ovi Suite
  • NSS pro (Nokia Service Software)
  • USB data cable

Steps to reset Nokia security code:
  1. Install the latest Nokia PC Suite/Ovi Suite.
  2. Connect your phone to computer via USB data cable, and choose PC Suite or Ovi mode.
  3. Open NSS pro. UPDATE: Right click NSS pro, Run as administrator.
  4. Click Read Info and you will see your phone details on left side.
  5. To enter phone test mode. Choose Test Mode on bottom right and click the right arrow button (>) to reboot phone.
  6. Under Factory Settings, choose Full Factory and click Reset.
  7. Done.

    I think it means remove the battery so that the phone is totally off with no battery power.

    Hi Lemon I have a nokia E72 RM-530 and have followed the instructions to reset the security code with NSS Pro. After I put the phone into test mode and try to run the factory reset it says "Init connection...Phone not found". Do you know what the problem could be and the solution to this problem?     If NSS says "Phone not found" when it is in test mode, unplug the usb and put it back and then hit reset and it should work.

    Hi , I followed your guide on " find back forgotten security code " to the letter ignoring the 3's turned phone off and on again, entered the acquired code, and was greeted with wrong security code.. doh... tried the reset routine press yes, and ......... nothing no reset to 12345, and retrieved still won't work. I was banking on this working, any ideas what to try now ?

    if you are using windows 7, set the compability settings to windows xp and it'll detect your phone.

    i followed the instructions, connect the phone, open nss pro and hit read info, the infos came out but whn i select to put it into test mode, nothing seems to be happening, i continued by pressing reset after i selected the full factory setting, my phone isnt restarting and i still cant use 12345 (default code) to hard reset my phone, help pls? thxx alot

    This solution works perfectly. I had a problem with the message - "Init connection...Phone not found". But my solution was just to unplug usb cabel and plug it back in and the the phone was found then, i clicked again reset button in nss pro and it reseted my phone to default settings.

    If you don't find your phone close all Nokia Suite applications.

    If the test mode is not reconized -> phone not found.
    You can try plug in the phone right after you started the resest.
    I worked for me.

    I reseted my locked E72 RM-530 with Phoenix software succesfull. Download firmware files (with navifirm) and copy then to phoenix, file/open product, flashing/firmware update, chose product code (if you cannot see anything be sure that you have right firmware files in right place), dead flashing on, push SW reset, do what program tell to you (remove batter, insert usb blaa blaa). If progress don't start flashing after that (didn't start with me) try reinstall phone battery.     This is the way to erase your previous security code. If your phone is not locked by security code, you can backup the phone's contents first with Nokia Suite.

    The method on this page only works before the phone is locked. Flashing your phone might be the only way.

    You guys rock! It was simply outstanding, never even imagined my N8 was just a few clicks away to come back in action...merci! The "Phone not found" thing also happened in my case, you just have to disconnect the cable while the phone is still in test mode, disconnect the USB, click reset, then OK in the dialog box that comes (trust me, nothing will happen), then after seeing "ini Connection" connect the USB cable back, thanks to Shala for his post. Loads of thanks and wishes sir! :-)

    Hi Alex, Shala's comment has a solution for this issue. While the phone is in Test Mode, remove the USB and click Full Factory's Reset. Then plug back the USB immediately.

    Thanks. It helped for my E63.

    These are my steps
    1. Choose "Test" Mode on bottom right and click the right arrow button (>) to reboot phone.
    2. The NSS will hang and closed, but my phone is still in "Test" mode. I relaunch the NSS.
    3. Under Factory Settings, choose Full Factory and click Reset.
    4. NSS will read the info itself and reboot. Done.

    You can try to reset again by using "1234" as your security code.

    Works for Nokia E63.

    For all who get problems like:
    1. clicking "Read info" shows "Phone not found".
    2. clicking "Reset" shows "Wrong mode, retry in 60 seconds".
    3. clicking ">" does simply nothing.

    Here is the Step by Step guide :

    1. Connect phone to PC with USB cable. Remember to choose PC suite mode.

    2. Click "read info". If it shows "phone not found" then click again on "read info" and this time when "init connection" appears, quickly remove the cable and insert it back. Phone details will be displayed.

    3. Select "Test mode" in the bottom right side and click ">". If nothing happens for 10-12 seconds then click "Abort". Again Click ">" and after 2-3 seconds quickly remove USB cable and re-insert. After a gap of probably 3-4 seconds the phone should go dark, but it won't switch off actually, if you tilt the screen a bit and see it in light reflection, you'll see written "test mode, NOKIA". You are now in Test Mode.

    4. Select "Full Factory" and then click "Reset". When "init connection" appears remove the cable and re-insert. The phone will reboot and the defaults will be reset.

    This worked. Thank you..However, whenever I try to do the "Read" step my phone's screen goes black and on the NSS window it says there "Error Next Key!"..so I kept pressing the power button ,nothing happens (just black screen) and the only choice for me is to remove the battery and put it back for it to boot up.. Help please.. :(

    Hi everyone, my problem is that my N8 is turned off with security code preventing me from turning it on. And it seems it won't connect unless I can do so (which is especially annoying since I know the security code I've been using for ages, no idea how it suddenly became invalid).


    Is there any way around it? I read about removing the battery, which seems difficult, but I'd try if I was sure it'll do any good. Will it?
